There has been a bridge crossing the Swilcan Burn in St Andrews for over 700 years. The Swilcan Bridge is now a famous part of the Old Course golf course. For golf fans, it is a place to get a photograph with the Royal and Ancient clubhouse in the background. There is even a full size replica and backdrop in the World of Golf Hall of Fame museum in St Augustine, Florida.

Beside the Forth Bridge, in North Queensferry, is the world’s smallest working Light Tower. Built in 1817, the lamp kept ferries carrying passengers and cargo moving safely across the Forth.
Beveridge Park was founded in 1892 when Provost Michael Beveridge gave 104 acres of the Raith Estate to the people of Kirkcaldy. The fountain was added in 1931 when his wife donated it in memory of her husband. A beaver sits on top of the fountain, which was a symbol from the Beveridge coat of arms.

The ruined castle above Dollar Glen was originally called Castle Glume until it passed through marriage to the powerful Highland Campbell family, the Earls of Argyll. It was then renamed Castle Campbell and was the lowland stronghold of the family.

The Sir Walter Scott steamship sails Loch Katrine and first made her maiden voyage in 1900. The boat still has her original triple expansion steam engine, but since 2007, the engine boilers now run on bio-fuel rather than coal. This helps to preserve the water quality, which is important since Loch Katrine is the primary source of water for the people of Glasgow.
